Practice Sorcerer

Practice Sorcerer is a gamified music education app that helps young instrumentalists (ages 9–14) build a daily practice habit. It teaches scales, ear training and music theory through interactive games with animated character companions, so practice between lessons feels like play rather than homework.

Practice games

Students learn through a set of focused practice modes:

  • Scale Sorcerer — play scales with real-time microphone pitch detection.
  • Creative Mode — free-form melody creation and composition.
  • Perch Perfect — a note-recognition game where an owl flies to the right perch.
  • Resonant Forest — interval ear training in a forest theme.
  • Aural Training — ear-training exercises that build a musical ear.
  • Tiger Dojo and Rhythm Writer — extra challenges for technique and rhythm.

For students

  • Play games that make scales fun.
  • Unlock magical character companions as you level up.
  • Earn points, build streaks, and climb the leaderboard.

For teachers

Starting practice is the hardest part. Teachers assign Warmup Quests — short daily routines that students complete from their dashboard — covering scales, note-reading, composition, rhythm, tuning and aural training. Clear, achievable goals between lessons keep students practising.

For parents

  • Clear warmup routines set by your child’s teacher.
  • Track progress and celebrate their growth.
  • Designed for child safety and privacy (COPPA-aware).

Privacy

Microphone pitch detection runs entirely on the student’s device — audio is never sent online or recorded. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and the app is designed for children and avoids collecting sensitive data.
